1. Meetings and Events
i) Any member may put themselves forward to host a meeting, however it will be at the discretion of the committee as to whether said member is chosen to host a meeting and the proposed venue may be subject to an informal inspection before it is accepted.
ii) Any member hosting a meeting must be prepared to provide refreshments for the group and to cater for any basic dietary requirements which said host will be made aware of prior to the meeting.
iii) Any member hosting a meeting must declare, prior to the meeting, any animals which are in habitance of the venue in order to prevent incident and allergic reaction.
iv) Members attending a meeting must show respect to the venue, the host and the other members in attendance.
v) Safe transport to and from meetings will be the sole responsibility of the member in question.
vi) Persons under the age of sixteen wishing to go on trips and courses organised by the club must be accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult.
vii) Persons under the age of eighteen will not be invited to attend certain events including nights out organised by the club, pub crawls and certain events where the content may not be suitable.
2. Website & Forum
i) The administration staff of the official forum reserve the right to ban any user found to be acting in a manner not in accordance with the rules and regulations of the forum, using obscene, offensive or inappropriate language, failing to show respect to fellow members or the work of other members, or plagiarism.
ii) The website staff reserve the right to correct minor spelling and language errors found in work submitted for display on the website although work with consistently bad grammar and/or spelling will be rejected.
iii) Any work displayed on the website may be removed at any time at the request of the author.
3. Original Work
i) Although the club takes precautions to prevent plagiarism we cannot accept responsibility for work read out in meetings, discussed on the forum or displayed on the official club website.
ii) The committee reserves the right to immediately exclude any member found to have plagiarised the work of another writer.
iii) Although constructive criticism is welcomed and encouraged any member consistently abusing or failing to respect the work or skills of another writer will be asked to leave the club if his or her behaviour does not change.
iv) If a member’s work includes graphic language or content unsuitable for minors and the member wishes to share this work either on the website, forum or in a meeting it must be clearly stated, where applicable, either beforehand or in the author's note. Please do not submit pornography as it will not be accepted in any form.
4. Members Rights
i) The committee reserves the right to immediately exclude any member found to have brought the club or the reputation of the club into disrepute.
ii) Any member found to be bullying, abusing or failing to respect other members of the club may be excluded without notice at the discretion of the committee.
The committee of the Inklets Creative Writing Club reserves the right to exclude any member found to be acting in a manner otherwise to the code of conduct without notice.
